Hi my name is Betsy Rinehardt I am a student as Appalachian State University. I am studying to be an Elementary School teacher. I am from Newton, NC and plan on moving back there once I have graduated. I have one sister who is eighteen months younger than me but has always been told she looks to be the oldest. She is my best friend and is always there to listen when needed. My mom is my backbone and supports everything I do one hundred percent.
Things I LOVE!
The things I enjoy the most are usually spontaneous and tend to be adventuresome. One of my favorite past times is traveling. I love to see new places or new things whether it be in the back yard of someone’s house or a thousand miles away. One of my newest found attractions happens to be located on the NC and Tenn. line. One of my friends maintains the grounds there and allowed me to see one of the most beautiful places my eyes have ever beheld. The area is a view of the mountains all around and seemingly goes forever. The area consists of 1,200 acres and is a never ending glorious view.
Flowers are an absolute. They can make me smile when I am at my lowest point and are the quickest way to my heart (don’t tell the boys). During the first weeks of spring I always go to a creek and pick the wild flowers on the creek beds and place them in my room or on the table to look at everyday. My Mother also knows this is one of my favorites and will sometimes surprise me with a few flowers when I come home on a weekend (yes she spoils me).
Another one of my all time favorite things to do is to listen to music. I love to ride down the road with the windows down and the radio going full blast. It has been a tradition to always dance or at least move around while riding in the car with me. I tend to make people come out of their comfort zones and this is one way I accomplish this. VH1 is a must in the morning and always starts my day off to a fresh and promising start.
There are so many things that I can not sum them up into four individual things. I enjoys all the little things in life that we as individuals often take for granted. Waking up and breathing fresh crisp mountain air. Seeing a butterfly flutter past as I walk to class. Seeing a smiling face as I pass them in the hall. Hearing a good morning or good afternoon as I walk up the stairs. All of these little things are the things I love and cherish each day. The little things outweigh all the horrendous things that may come my way.
Not so Much…
There are few things in life that I can honestly say I dislike. I try to look at the best in every situation and make the best of what has happened or is happening. One thing that gets under my skin is disrespect. I think one of the most important things in life is respect toward others and to the property around you. Respect is often disregarded and not demanded by the public in general. I as an individual demand respect and speak up when I do not receive the respect in which I deserve.
One damper on a day is a cloudy, and gloomy day. Having to get up and go to class on a day such as this tends to be a struggle. I do however enjoy a rainy day or afternoon when I can sleep or take a nap.
Waiting for the arrival of someone or something is always something that tends to set me in an unpleasant mood. I am very anxious and am usually busy and like to meet people when they say we are going to meet and enjoy my time that I am about to spend with them. Waiting often takes time I have available and cuts my time with that person.
I have always had little to no money and understand what it is like to live on $2 in your bank account. This is frustrating and can cause lots of stress especially when there are things that I truly need. I have however learned to budget very well and can live on nearly nothing for extended periods of time. I tend to be very giving and when I have money I often spend it on others.
Features…
I am a youthful classy lady I have carefree flowing brown hair against a soft stunning face. My eyes are a beautiful deep blue color that even Crayola would love to emulate. I have been described mostly as the classic southern belle beauty. I am of average height at 5’6″. I enjoy waring fun flowing dresses. My smile can brighten up a room. I express a mature demeanor that shows my eagerness to enter my occupational field.
My Best Qualities…
Some of my best friends have taken to calling me the ‘mom’ because I am constantly cooking, caring , and being the responsible one in the house. I am definitely a very giving person that never hesitates to give what little I have away to anyone in need. I love to be social; hence I have a very outgoing personality. One characteristic that has gotten me in trouble is my innate trust that I lend to everyone I meet.

You are a good momma! You need to cook dinner again and bring Jenna! Love ya lots! Can’t wait to work with you in writer’s circle!
I would have to agree that you are a very giving person. I saw this in Block one over the summer! You are going to be a great teacher!
After reading your about me, it seems that we have a lot in common – the music, wildflowers and traveling! I LOVE that your smile brightens up the room because it definitely does. Your laugh is quite contagious and that is a great quality to have. I also enjoyed just simply reading because the way you write is descriptive and I can place myself in what you are talking about – especially that part about your newfound NC attraction! I am looking forward to getting to know you better through class and this writing circle!
You sound like such a fun person and I’m so excited to get to know you better through this semester and through our writing group. I am right there with you on the traveling. It is such an amazing thing! You SO have to visit Wyoming. By far my most favorite place I have ever visited. Lets chat about it soon and I’ll tell you lots about it!
I enjoyed reading this dialogue!
I appreciate the sincere comments and specific connections that were made. And Betsy, I need to know a few of your favorite flowers…just a few kinds and colors. Also, I LOVE your headings…very creative.
OOooo well my favorite flowers…… That is a hard one I am not picky. I am a simplistic girl so I like simplistic flowers and those of which grow in the wild I prefer to pick my own or have them picked for me rather than a bought bouquet from the store. I would have to say that one of my most favorite is a hydrangea and just the white or off white that is most common with that flower. I am sorry to get back to you so late on this comment but I am truly just discovering the proper way to navigate around my page. I recently was in a wedding where this flower was present in my personal bouquet and I felt it was the most becoming of all the flower in the arrangement.
Betsy you have a very unique personality. You are always smiling and energetic, something I wish I could be like all the time! I think you will be an amazing teacher with your exuberant personality! I also was in a wedding that used hydrangeas. I think they are beautiful and such an unusual choice for a wedding flower. I wish you all the best! And thank you for my sweet comment on my about me page!
